Land registry affairs had been handled by "Courthouse chu-zhaug registry office" during "The period of Japanese occupation", subordinate to the district court. After "Taiwan Retrocession" in 1945, land registry affairs handled by Hsin-Chu City Government (which includes Tao-yuan, Hsin-Chu and Miao-li Counties nowadays) and was renamed "Land Arrangement Office", with each city established as an administrative unit, divisions established to handle each land administration affairs.
In 1950, due to adjustments in Taiwan province administrative districts, the authority of city transfer to county and set-up Hsin-Chu County in 1950, branch offices were set up in Hsin-Chu, Chu-Dong, Chu-Bei the following year, our office was called " Hsin-Chu County Hsin-Chu Land Administration Office" at that time, responsible for land registration, land survey and mean land-ownership, the areas under control were Hsin-Chu City, Xiang-Shan County and Bao-Shan County, the office was allotted more than 30 personnel.
Owing to rapid industrial and commercial development and socio-economic prosperity, land administration affairs became heavier, business work-load increased, so we moved our office to NO.60 Guang-hua East street Hsin-Chu city and expand the number of employees in 1982. In the mean time, the office was renamed "Hsin-Chu City Land Administration Office", and handled land administration affairs of Hsin-Chu City, the area under control includes eastern area, north area and Xiang-Shan area, registered land area is 10137 hectares, 176987 pieces of land.
